I've been coming here for a few years now. My friends and I started playing card games at their tables and the staff and owners have been very accommodating and welcoming. We've flourished into a rather large community and The Climbing Wolf continues to be the best place for us to meet up. The beer selection is always amazing and the staff is some of the friendliest and most welcoming I've ever met. Coming to the Wolf each Tuesday feels like going to a friend's house and it's always the highlight of my week. 10/10, would recommend

Climbing Wolf is a Rivertowns gem. I did a reading of my children's picture book here a few weeks ago and it went great—the turnout was fantastic and we had a lot of fun! Climbing Wolf not only has the best coffee and beer in the entire NYC area, but they are a wonderful spot for community events as well. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Located near the Hudson River, this cafe is not difficult to find a place to park your car. I took my ice latte to the park where the station is located and enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly, the restrooms were clean and the restaurant looked cozy. The coffee tasted fruity and was the perfect latte for a hot day. I recommend it if you come to this area.

Since moving back to the Rivertowns earlier this year, Climbing Wolf has become my go-to spot. Whether you are a coffee or beer afficionado looking for some deeper cut grinds or beers, or looking for a great place to hangout, read, socialize, Climbing Wolf is your place. I am hooked on their cold brew, and usually sit and do a bit of work on my laptop. The cafe seamlessly transitions into beer sipping later in the afternoon and as someone who doesn't really drink, I can continue to hang out because the crowd is super chill. Owners and staff are lovely, lots of space, good for families. Hits all the notes for me. Love this spot.

Have lived in Dobbs for two years now and spend a lot of my time at Climbing Wolf, both for coffee in the morning and for a couple of beers in the evenings. The owners are the sweetest and really care about their customers, and the baristas and bartenders are just as lovely. Great beer and wine selection that is always changing and the guys are always highlighting local and women-owned brewers. The crowd is open and welcoming and a lot of us have become friends thanks to the Wolf. The coffee is also fantastic (and I never liked coffee before), there are coffee specials and takeovers, and they include a rotating roster of pasties (many gluten free!) and doughnuts from local bakers.

Great place to get third wave coffee and craft beer! The owners are super friendly, and will gladly help you to choose one of the many interesting beers on draft or in their beer case. They also feature a rotating exhibit of gallery worthy local artists, which always brightens up the space! They have pastries and a small selection of sweets to go with the coffee service, and allow BYO food too.

Let me start by saying—I’m that girl who’s always here. Now, let me tell you why. It’s a long one. So grab a drink and some snacks. 1. The Coffee – It’s always fresh and consistent. Starbies? You could never 2. The Beer – At night, this place metamorphosizes into a bar. The selection is great. The tap list is a very well-curated mix of craft beers, always delivering something fresh and unique. I don’t know much about beer, but I do know about getting tipsy. Would 100% recommend. If you’re nice(-ish) enough, they might even let you write on one of the boards for the tap beers. In addition to the 12 beers on tap, they have a fully stocked fridge with all kinds of beers—whether you want to enjoy one there or take a few to go. No matter what you like, there’s something for everyone. 3. The People- JB and Chris, the owners, are absolutely wonderful. You can always pick their brains about all things beer, coffee, food, and most things life. Bartenders and baristas Kaitlyn, Justin, Angel, and Tabitha are as lovely. They’re friendly, fun, and make this place feel so warm and welcoming. 4. Dogs – This is a pet-friendly place. There’s always at least a dog wagging their tail, wanting to be petted. If you need some oxytocin but are too lazy to go for a run or too irresponsible to get a pet for yourself (like me), this is another reason to visit this place. 5. The Vibe – Whether you’re human, alien, vampire, or a zombie, you’re welcome here. No judgment—unless you’re an a-hole. Then kindly stay outside. 6. The Most Useless Trivia by Polish John – Every Thursday at 8, Polish John hosts the most hilarious trivia night ever. Aptly titled The Most Useless Trivia, it’s packed with random facts that will help you absolutely nowhere in life, but boy, is it fun. If you’re in the area and love not-so-serious trivia, you have to give it a shot. I promise, you won’t be disappointed. 7. Local Art – They feature a rotating exhibit of local artists, which is always a great addition to the space. It’s a wonderful way to support the artists. 8. Bring Your Own Food – While the place doesn’t have a kitchen, you’re totally welcome to bring in your own food or grab something from any of the nearby spots. This is their modest way of not just making the place more welcoming but also supporting other businesses in the area. There’s no way in hell you could resist going and buying something for yourself once a patron opens their box of tacos from Los Ferchos. 9. The Community – If you live in the neighborhood, this is a place you must visit. It pulls you in like a black hole, helping you find your tribe—no matter how lost you feel in the abyss of life. (Sorry for the metaphor, I’m a little tipsy thanks to Hardywood’s Christmas Morning beer here at Climbing Wolf. It’s amazing!). I moved to the neighborhood nearly six months ago and started coming here to work while I took my time setting up my place. This spot became my little bubble of stability while everything else in my life was changing. Sorry for the sap. If you’re on the lookout for your people, chances are you’ll find them here. Having said that, my bank account isn’t exactly happy or proud of my spendings here at Climbing Wolf, but my heart is definitely very warm and fuzzy. So, if you want great coffee, incredible beer, and a place to just be, Climbing Wolf is where you need to go. P.S. This is not a paid review.
